Get started with newsletter advertising on adly.news in just a few minutes. This guide walks you through finding newsletters, booking your first ad, and launching your campaign.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A business or product to advertise

  • Creative assets (logo, ad image, copy)

  • A payment method (credit/debit card)

Step 1: Sign Up

  1. Go to adly.news

  2. Click Sign In and select the business/advertiser option

  3. Choose your sign-in method:

    • Google — Sign in with your Google account

    • Microsoft — Sign in with your Microsoft account

    • Email — Enter your email to receive a magic link

  4. Complete the authentication to access your dashboard

Step 2: Explore Your Options

Once signed in, you have several ways to advertise:

  • Browse Newsletters — Find and book specific newsletters directly

  • Create Campaigns — Post your advertising needs and let newsletters apply to you

  • Submit Bids — Negotiate pricing on ad slots

Your business information will be collected during the booking process.

Step 3: Browse Newsletters

Find newsletters that match your target audience:

  1. Navigate to Browse Newsletters in the sidebar

  2. Explore available newsletters

  3. Click on a newsletter to view details:

    • Subscriber count

    • Engagement metrics (open rate, click rate)

    • Audience description

    • Available ad slots and pricing

Tip: Look for newsletters whose audience aligns with your target customers. A smaller, engaged audience often outperforms a larger, generic one.

Step 4: Choose Your Approach

You have three ways to advertise:

Option A: Book Directly

Book an ad slot at the listed price:

  1. Click on a newsletter to view its ad slots

  2. Click Book Now on your preferred ad slot

Best for: Quick, guaranteed placements when the price is right.

Option B: Submit a Bid

Negotiate a better rate:

  1. Click on a newsletter to view its ad slots

  2. Click Make a Bid on your preferred ad slot

  3. Enter your proposed amount and preferred date

  4. Add a campaign brief explaining your business

  5. Submit your bid

  6. Wait for the newsletter owner to respond:

    • Accepted: You have 48 hours to complete the booking

    • Counter-offer: Review and accept or decline their price

    • Rejected: Consider a higher bid or different newsletter

Best for: Budget-conscious advertisers with flexible timing.

Option C: Create a Campaign

Let newsletters come to you:

  1. Navigate to Campaigns in the sidebar

  2. Click Create Campaign

  3. Fill in campaign details:

    • Title and description

    • Date range

    • Payment type (fixed or negotiable)

    • Amount (if fixed)

    • Ideal newsletter description

    • Targeting options (niche, location)

  4. Add your business branding

  5. Click Create Campaign

  6. Review applications as newsletters apply

Best for: Large-scale advertising or finding multiple newsletters.

Note: When you create a campaign, we also reach out to relevant newsletters on your behalf to encourage applications.

Step 5: Complete Your Booking

When booking directly or after a bid is accepted:

Part 1: Contact Details

  1. Enter or confirm your contact information:

    • Contact name

    • Company name

    • Company website

    • Company description

    • Location

Part 2: Schedule

  1. Select an available date for your ad

  2. Use the calendar to see available days (newsletter publishing days)

  3. Dates already booked will be unavailable

Part 3: Creative Assets

  1. Provide your ad creative:

    • Title: Headline for your ad

    • Image: Upload an ad image (follow size specifications)

    • Copy: Your ad text/description

    • CTA Text: Call-to-action button text (e.g., "Learn More")

    • CTA URL: Where the button links to

    • Campaign Goals: (Optional) What you hope to achieve

  2. Preview your ad to see how it will look

Part 4: Payment

  1. Review the booking summary

  2. Enter your payment information

  3. Click Complete Booking

You'll receive a confirmation email and the booking will appear in My Bookings.

What Happens Next

After booking:

  1. Booking Confirmed — Your ad is scheduled

  2. Newsletter Owner Receives Your Creative — They'll prepare your ad

  3. Ad Publishes — Your ad goes out on the scheduled date

  4. Booking Completed — The booking is automatically marked complete after the scheduled date

Need to discuss your creative or make changes?

  1. Navigate to Messages in the sidebar

  2. Find your conversation with the newsletter owner

  3. Send messages to discuss your booking

  • Match newsletter audience to your target customers

  • Check engagement metrics (higher open rates = better visibility)

  • Read audience descriptions carefully

Create Compelling Ads

  • Use clear, benefit-focused headlines

  • Include a strong call-to-action

  • Test different approaches across newsletters

Track Your Results

  • Use UTM parameters in your CTA URLs

  • Track conversions from each newsletter

  • Identify top-performing newsletters for repeat bookings

Build Relationships

  • Be responsive to messages

  • Provide feedback after campaigns

  • Book repeat placements with newsletters that perform well
